Michigan Active Citizens-Alternative Spring Break (MAC-ASB) thrives on the hard work, ideas, and energy of the students involved. As a member of MAC-ASB, there will be a year-long education process before engaging in service during the week of spring break. We place a strong emphasis on respectful engagement. Throughout the year, Site Leaders will learn about active-citizenship through facilitating dialogues. We work alongside communities to understand social justice issues.

Successful MAC-ASB site leaders guide their teams in learning and reflection and effectively manage day-to-day tasks such as communication with site contacts and fundraising. Their work begins in the fall and continues through the break. Site Leaders attend a mandatory retreat and regular meetings to help build leadership and facilitation skills.
